16 May 2008 Roving Away Strip - Off the 10 metre board !
Iain held his Civil Service Swimming Championships at Ponds Forge International Pool, Sheffield where Ben Swain (see bens profile on Team GB) was in training from the Beijing Olympic Games.
At the Games Ben took part in the Individual 3m Springboard Diving and also in the 3m Synchronised Diving with partner Nicholas Robinson-Baker. The pair came in a very creditable 7th place.

Still images can't really show just how good this dive was
but this one shows the main parts of it
|
Although Ben rarely made the news himself he was always in the background
of the news shots being mischievous but ensuring everyone had a great time. |

These shots were all taken from the other end of
the diving pit which itself is a massive 25 metres. Hopefully they demonstrate the scale.

front and back of the strip
|
| Ben is reigning British Champion in both of the 3m events and describes himself as "dedicated, loopy and supportive". There is never a dull moment when Ben is about and when he heard about the RugbyTTC Roving Away Strip he was delighted to help out and tested it from the 10 metre board. The shorts were such a good fit they nearly stayed on as these photos of Ben and his dive show. |

Ever stood on the 10 metre board?
Not for the faint hearted!

and back of the strip

Ben got it wet - but the strip survived
|

And yes our strip had its first bath! Its Ok just pass them to Sheila to put out on the line!

And what is next we wonder?
More mischief perhaps?
